Sensory Overload

A little bird
Sitting on a
Short
Mossy twig,
The sound of the wind
Rushing through
Sharp
Corridors,
The clear
Snap
Of sound when there is
None,
Time spiraling
Further     and further from my
control,
And the nagging
     thought:
People grow
Up, but you
Not with
them

  1. I think that the spacing and line breaks in the poem help compliment the theme really well. The lack of pattern helps to show the unpredictable chaos and activity of nature and the "sensory overload" for somebody observing it. My favorite line is "People grow/Up, but you/Not with/them" as I think it best connects to me and the self doubt that is often felt right now.
