Our photograph demonstrates the special bond shared by Soraya and Amir, in which they can both support each other and provide a confidant for each other. In the photograph, the two boxes depict the two characters in which they are tightly bonded together through the rope and it depicts the bond they share as they stay together despite the wind and other outside forces that could move the boxes, and in the novel it could be the emotional baggage they both have. The boxes are stacked on top of each other on a crate that is representative of America, which prevents Amir and Soraya to be inhibited by cultural issues that occurred in their past and would otherwise prevent a strong bond forming between them, and them being stacked is representative of their supportive relationship. The sticker on the box that states, “Inspect for damage before acceptance”, also is symbolic as both characters were damaged and had baggage coming into the relationship, but checked for damage and continued to love and support each other despite their issues.
I really like how you used the boxes to show the strong bond between Soraya and Amir. I think that their relationship is really special and your depiction really shows this to be true.
ReplyDeleteI liked your analysis of the text on the sticker and how you used it to enforce your ideas of their bond.
ReplyDeleteGreat insight!I like how you connected the strong bonds of the two characters by relating it to two boxes tied together by a rope. Amir never had this relationship with anyone, and after meeting Soraya he was able to have someone he could really trust and connect with.
