eyes wide open

eyes wide open

Intertwine the world with yourself
Let the flow of the waves roll you over
And you will never hit the rocky shore

If you listen to the whispers of the trees
If you let your mind fly like a bird
If you open your heart to the world
You will see life with raw eyes
You will gain a vision of appreciation
Or maybe a vision of disturbance

Let the calm air of nature allow you to be free
Let it rejuvenate and reset your mind
Take in a cool, blissful breeze and let it dissolve into your lungs

Awareness is a word of gold
It gives understanding
And receives importance

The Choice

There are two paths you can take
Both paved,
And beautiful
You stand in front of both
They are captivating
Which one will you take?
Murmurs and voices are yelled
Telling you to take one path
“This is what you need”
“This is the easy way out”
Judges and glares are exchanged
The next path is extremely difficult and dangerous
But its exquisite,
Filled with exotic flowers and fruits
This one is calling you
Your heart is urging you to follow
Smell the air,
The flowers,

Which one will you take?
Happiness and difficulty,
Or the struggle of not fitting in,

To the small path society is telling you to follow?

Close

We strive for happiness,
running as fast as we can to get there.
Sprinting and sprinting,
running in circles.
Not succeeding to find it.

Yet happiness is not as far as it is deceived.
It is close to our hearts.
Close to our soul.
It is within the oceans of our eyes.
It is within the fire of our hearts.
It is within the melody of our minds.

If you become one with our Mother,
one with yourself,
Taoism will take your hand and show you the way,
to happiness,
to peace with yourself.

And you’ll realize that happiness,
that the Tao,

was right behind you the whole time.

A Very Insightful Poem

Woah dude this is deep.
Two sides of the same coin.
Life and death.
Light and darkness.
Two sides of everything.
What is everything? I don’t know.
It’s unnamable, don’t worry,
But I’ll call it the Tao Te Ching.
It’s intentionally vague, but
I don’t really care.
I invented this religion
So that bureaucrats

Would stay in their place.

The Balance of Life

The Balance of Life
Haley Grant

The sun gleaming bright onto the water,
The still, unwavering stream,
Charged full of light
Glowing and bouncing off the reflection

Just like your heart softly beats,
Clenching in and out to the rhythm,
Reflecting your mood or feelings,
Wavering, minute by minute

We are able to control the uncontrollable,
We can calm down our doubled heartbeat to a slow putter,
or speed it up with excitement

Two feet, one line, one foot in front of the other
Balance beam, solid white line,
distractions a blur as your focus is crystal clear,
Balance is key

The Flow of Tao

Nothing led to something
This something lead to chaos
Chaos led to order

The untamable is the non-conceptual
It is the natural order of the universe
Names are just manifestations

Feel but do not describe
Embrace the Tao blindly
Follow the flow of the universe

To be wise you must be a fool
To feel the Tao you must be empty
To do you must not do

Be like a drop in the ocean
Do not control the flow
Follow it

The Balance

The balance is what ensures day in and out,
the combination of the light and the dark
is what proves we can be whole

It that has no real name
It that is the essence of everything
It that is the mother of the universe,
the origin of all things

The Tao is what it is referred to by most,
it’s what forms the balance between the yin and yang
The white and black
The male and female
Opposites in every way,
Yet interconnected throughout,
The Tao was the beginning

And it is the destruction of the Tao that will be the end

Balance of Two

Inside and out
Through and through
The tao permeates through old and new

A sense of being
But still letting live
Relent desires and you’ll begin

Begin the journey
To comprehend
The world consists of a blend

Black and White
Yin and Yang
Nothing is all the same

We are the product of balance
Our skin the canvas of the two

The balance of yin and yang that makes us me and you

The Everywhere Tao

What is the Tau, if not anything.

A dark night, beneath a blazing day.
A wet ocean, soaking under dry land.
A dead space, floating above a lively world.

But we cannot see the Tau.
For it is all around us.

A candle, fighting to stay lit.
A leaf, hanging on for the last time.
A flower, closing for the winter.

Tau is the binding of all things.
The binding of living and dead.

An early frost.
A birth of a life.
A morning rainbow.

The Tau always surrounds us
Yet it is never seen.
The beginning of life,

And the ending of death.
