Everything isn’t everything until there is nothing
And nothing is never
Summon your reserves
Summon your strength
Summon your drive
Your heart keeps beating and you keep going
Push until there is nowhere else to go
No more elevation to climb
No more seas to swim
When you feel the acid building, run faster
When there is no more road, forge your own
When you are the last one, find yourself
When you hit a wall, scale it
When you reach the top, build a ladder
When you find your strength, cling to it like ivy
When you think, you don’t do
Let breath seep into your lungs
Let ideas sprout in your mind
Let energy rush through your nerves
Let the wind pick you up and carry you
If you want to give in, breath in
When you want to give up, rise up
There is no end, only beginning, only continuing
Everything isn’t everything until it is nothing
When it is the end it is your end

I really like this poem! It is really inspirational, and I really liked your use of language and words. I like how you really connect to human nature, and how easy it is for people to give in. Also, I like how you talk about continuing on in life, even when it is hard. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYou poem was so amazing, and I think it also does a good job of representing how tenacious of a person you are. The way you tied everything back together at the end, and tied it into the same phrase you had at the beginning was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love your your poem is applicable to so many different people and scenarios, depending on how the reader interprets it and what they choose to pull from your writing. You managed to get deep into certain hardships and struggles in the middle of your poem, but still brought everything back together on a really positive note at the end. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI love your use of repetition in this poem, it is very engaging. Your use of language also allowed me to picture what you were describing.
