Imagine being a radiating balloon.
Full of air and potential.
Full of air and potential.
Even though you don’t float through the sky,
Doesn't mean you shouldn't allow the wind to carry you.
Whether the wind blows you away,
or your string is being tugged down,
Staying flexible, uncontrolling, and calm
will help you bounce back.
Even if you deflate,
doesn’t mean there won’t be a day to freshly inflate.
Focus on what you know is ahead,
leave the insignificant behind.
Stay mindful of what you feel in the moment.
Express your true vibrancy.
Take an example from a balloon.
Continue floating freely.

I love the unique balloon metaphor in your poem, especially the line, "Express your true vibrancy." It is very fitting and is also powerful and inspiring. I appreciate how you drew the writing elements and key ideas from the Tao Te Ching poems. At first, the balloon idea seemed quite different from the Tao, but you connected them very well. Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove this! The relation to the balloon was very clever, and it felt as if your poem was painting a picture.
ReplyDeleteI really liked how you compared going with the flow of the Tao to being carried by the wind. A lot of people compare going with the flow to rivers, but your poem was very unique.
